PEPAC aid · Irrigation modernisation

Andalucía PEPAC irrigation grant: open call, up to 100% of works.

Open — while funds last (Intervención 68431)

In Andalucía's open call, soil-moisture monitoring is one of a menu of DNSH measures a modernisation project can adopt to meet the environmental requirement — a strong route, though not a standalone mandate.

The open call is reservoir-focused (balsas reguladoras); SoilSense fits as one of the DNSH measures a community includes in its project. We do not claim it is individually required here.

What the rules ask — and how SoilSense meets it

Every irrigation-modernisation project must respect the DNSH principle ("do no significant harm"). To comply, MAPA's scientific-technical guidelines (Directriz nº 1) define soil-moisture sensor monitoring (volumetric content and/or matric potential) as the reference route: probes at two obligatory depths (≈25 cm and ≈50 cm; a third at 70–90 cm for woody crops), with a telecontrol unit and data logging.

Automatic irrigation control is not required to meet the requirement (it can score higher in some calls). Monitoring and deciding from our data is enough. FAO-56 dose and automatic valve: in development.

SoilSense, matched to the Directriz

Technology the rules name: capacitive / TDR probes. The SoilSense SMT100 is capacitive → a named technology.
Two obligatory depths (25/50 cm) + a third for woody crops: multi-depth probes.
≈3 units per crop per ≤50 ha (more in nitrate-vulnerable zones): per-parcel deployment, scalable across the community's parcels.
"Sensors and telecontrol unit" with logging/IoT telemetry: SoilSense gateway + platform.

The technical annex, ready

We hand the engineer who writes the modernisation project a "soil-moisture monitoring" technical annex (memoria técnica) that meets the DNSH reference route out of the box:

SoilSense componentWhat it coversAvailability
Soil probe (volumetric + EC)Soil-moisture monitoring — DNSH reference route (Directriz nº 1)Available today
SoilSense app — plant-available water (PAW), stress / over-irrigation alertsEfficient water managementAvailable today
Irrigation control / automationOptional (scores in some calls)In development

We sell to the irrigation community → deployment across every member parcel. The community submits the project; we supply the sensor annex that makes it compliant.
