Action 1 · Precision fertilisation
Variable-rate fertiliser application, to cut chemical inputs.

CSR / CAP · SRA24 / ACA24 measure — precision agriculture
The SRA24/ACA24 measure pays an annual per-hectare premium, for 5 years, to adopt precision practices. For irrigation (Action 3) the premium ranges €210–374/ha per year, by region and crop. SoilSense is the soil-moisture monitoring that precision irrigation is built on.
You voluntarily commit, for 5 years, to adopt at least one precision-agriculture practice on an area; in return you receive an annual per-hectare premium. The three actions can be combined on the same area:
Variable-rate fertiliser application, to cut chemical inputs.
Targeted treatments driven by models and maps, to reduce plant-protection products.
Irrigation managed by a decision-support system (DSS): water balance plus soil-moisture sensors. This is where SoilSense fits.
Beneficiaries: individual or associated farmers and public bodies managing farms.
The measure is activated region by region — currently in about 9 regions (including Puglia, Piedmont, Tuscany, Calabria, Campania, Liguria, Basilicata, Lazio, Umbria). Premiums, eligible crops and entry windows are set by each region's terms (disciplinare).
Annual per-hectare premium for precision irrigation, per the regional decrees. Indicative figures — confirm against your region's live call:
| Region | Crop (example) | Action 3 premium |
|---|---|---|
| Basilicata | arable | €374/ha |
| Calabria | arable | €347/ha |
| Campania | maize | €347/ha |
| Liguria | arable | €347/ha |
| Tuscany | arable | €302/ha |
| Piedmont | arable | €300/ha |
| Puglia | field crops | €295/ha |
| Lazio | sunflower, soy, maize, sorghum | €210/ha |
| Umbria | wine producers with a DSS | +€88/ha (no dedicated Action 3) |
Woody crops generally carry lower premiums. Actions can stack on the same area, so a project combining actions can exceed a single figure. Always confirm the amount and eligible crops on your region's call.
The SoilSense probe measures soil moisture — the foundation of the DSS required for precision irrigation.
The "X mm" dose computed from the FAO-56 water balance.
Logging of irrigation events and interoperable export to the public administration.
Important: Action 3 rewards using the DSS and logging events — not automation. Manual irrigation control based on our recommendation is enough. Today SoilSense provides the soil-moisture monitoring; the FAO-56 engine and interoperable export are in development — get ready now and we'll tell you when they ship and when your region opens.
SRA24/ACA24 entries open region by region and on a schedule; 2026 mostly confirms commitments already under way. Leave your details: we'll alert you when a new entry window opens in your region and prepare the monitoring part of your project with you.
Your CAA, consortium or wine cooperative handles the application with you; we supply the soil-moisture monitoring for Action 3. We put you in touch.
Start using SoilSense now with a 60-day risk-free field trial — full refund if it doesn't deliver value. Your setup is ready to slot into the grant when your window opens.
Indicative information provided as a decision aid — it does not constitute legal, tax or financial advice. Premiums, eligible crops, requirements and entry windows vary by region (disciplinare) and must be confirmed with your CAA or Region before applying.
